The incoming headteacher of a trio of schools in Pinchbeck, Spalding and Surfleet has praised the man he is replacing for his “outstanding” work.

Andrew Raistrick starts his new job as executive headteacher of Pinchbeck East, Spalding and Surfleet Primary Schools on September 5 after five years as as head of Great Dalby Primary School in Leicestershire which was rated outstanding by Ofsted in October 2014.

Mr Raistrick succeeds the highly-regarded Tom Verity who led his last assembly at Pinchbeck East Primary School last Thursday after just over seven years in charge during which he helped the village school to an outstanding Ofsted grading in May 2012.

“I have known Tom for only a short time but he is a thoroughly professional and very caring person who fully deserves the praise and recognition for all he has achieved,” Mr Raistrick said.

“He will, undoubtedly, be missed by his colleagues but I am looking forward immensely to taking over the role and building on Tom’s achievements with enthusiasm and excitement.”

Speaking about his successor, Mr Verity said: “Andrew is coming from an outstanding school so he will bring a fresh pair of eyes and outstanding leadership to our schools.”
