LONG Sutton students showed off their stylish side at a leavers’ prom.
The Peele Community College class of 2011 went to the Elme Hall Hotel in Wisbech for their big night and arrived to the excitement of a crowd of family and friends on vintage cars, limousines and a fairytale carriage and horses.
However, ‘best transport’ belonged to Laura Bailey – who turned heads by arriving in a supermarket trolley.
Peele’s Sue Butler said: “Students arrived, as is traditional at the Peele, in or on a variety of unusual transport.
“There was an amazing selection of vintage cars, limousines, and a fairytale carriage and horses.
“The arrival of a huge lorry was greeted with enthusiasm by all the adults and children watching, but most people agreed that the supermarket trolley following right behind it was the best of all!
“There was a vast crowd of relatives and friends, as well as staff members, ready to cheer as each vehicle appeared.”
The event was organised by a prom committee with help from head of drama Claire Wilkins and the venue was decked out in flowers in the college colours of purple and cream by Lesley Issott.
