A team from Moulton’s John Harrox Primary School emerged victors from a tennis tournament held at Spalding Tennis Club.
Harrox A beat off second place St Bartholemew’s A from West Pinchbeck to win the Spalding area School Tennis Games.
The Games is the school version of the Olympics and a chance for children to get involved in sport.
They also promote the important values of honesty, respect, passion, determination, teamwork and self belief.
Some 23 teams from eight schools took part and organiser Rupert Gibson was delighted with how the day went.
“Spalding Tennis Club provided a fantastic venue which was such a great experience for the children. The club are really keen to get more people, old and young, playing tennis”.
“The seven- and eight- year-olds were greeted by 24 outstanding volunteers from Sir John Gleed School who led them in a warm up, gave them a bit of coaching and then umpired all the 188 games that then took place. Our great thanks go to these leaders.”
