Head of sixth form Sarah Scott congratulated all the young people on their achievements, as 57 per cent achieved the equivalent of a GCSE A grade.

She said: “This is an increase from last year’s results of 53 per cent and shows how the centre has continued to develop to meet the needs of vocational learners in our area.”

And she added that the good results meant all of the centre’s students had received the necessary grades to move on to the universities of their choice.
