STAFF and students have worked hard together to achieve success at GCSE, according to head teacher of the Middlecott School Kirton Steve Johnson.

Mr Johnson said he was delighted that 61 per cent of all pupils gained five GCSE grades at A* to C and that 40 per cent had achieved those grade in subjects including mathematics and English.

“We are four per cent ahead of the target we set ourselves so we are pleased,” said Mr Johnson. “They have worked hard and with determination and I think both staff and students have worked together. The students have had a lot of support and benefited from it.

“These results show we are moving forward.”
