CHANGES have been made to the funding deal attached to Spalding’s Wygate Park development to ensure money is still available for extra school places.
South Holland District Council’s planning committee has given its blessing to Lincolnshire County Council to allow developer Allison Homes Eastern Ltd to extend the repayment period for its £1.22million educational provision.
The county council asked the firm to consider changing the Section 106 agreement because it would have otherwise lost out on cash to build a school.
The previous deadline would have expired in July 2013.
In exchange, the land required for a school has been cut from one-and-a-half hectares to one.
Stephen Mason, from the county council’s children’s services department, said the development’s delay had been down to the economic downturn.
