Astronauts and aliens found the force was with them when William Stukeley School at Holbeach was transformed into a space academy for the day.

Four to seven-year-olds are studying space this term – and that gave 120 pupils the chance to dress up.

“They were amazing costumes,” said teacher Catherine Cuthbertson. “Some were made by mums and dads and some were bought. We had lots of googly eyes on heads. It was just a great day and the children learned a lot.” Activities included making moon sand and exploring a trip to the moon with the Bowie’s Major Tom.
