Spalding High School students have been working in collaboration with the Grammar school in Loehne, Germany.

The school hosted staff and students from Germany and the visit culminated in a summer concert.

All of the 45 visiting students are musicians, playing various string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.

They performed in two concerts alongside High School musicians, one for the public on Tuesday evening and one for students on Wednesday lunchtime.

The programme included film music, vocal items and a selection from The Sound of Music.

Head of music Lynne Loose said: “The visit has been a great success and we hope to return next year to continue our collaboration.”

Headmistress Michele Anderson added: “The collaboration yielded a tremendous concert and musical experience for both the participants and the audience.  It was an absolutely lovely evening.”
