Members of East Elloe (Holbeach and district) Lions club are looking for a few new members.

Only a small club but with a big reputation, they have quietly been making a difference to individuals and projects for a number of years.

The Lions give members an opportunity to advance worthy causes, not by writing cheques, but by their own efforts and to serve with friends and contribute to their local community.

The members offer a cordial invitation to any male or female, to come along to one of their regular Wednesday fortnightly meetings at the United Services Club in Holbeach (7.30pm for 8pm) to get a feel for Lionism and to meet the current members.

Recently, poor health and age have robbed the club of valued members.

The Lions motto is “We serve” and the East Elloe club has lived up to it. For years now, the club has arranged holidays with spending money for needy families; provided items to assist the infirm in their homes and assisted in other local projects such as Christmas fayres etc. The familiar sight and sound of Santa and his sleigh will soon be touring local hot spots!

You do not have to love in Holbeach to join, and anyone interested can contact any club member or telephone David on 01406 259134, or come along to a meeting without any pressure or obligation.
