Driver helped from car in ditch in Frampton

A driver had to be helped from his car by firefighters after it left the road and ended up in a ditch in Frampton on Friday.

It happened in Clatterdykes Road at about 5.55pm after which fire crews from Kirton and Boston assisted the driver and made the car safe.

Meanwhile, a blaze in Donington involving a pile of unwanted wood was dealt with on Saturday.

A fire crew from the village was called to Town Dam Lane, near Donington Community Centre, shortly after 6.10pm.

Firefighters used a water hose reel to put the blaze out.

At around the same time, a kitchen fire broke out at a house in Gosberton.

Firefighters were alerted by a report of a smoke alarm heard at a house in Salem Street shortly after 6.05pm.

The fire, which was out on arrival, started when cooking was left unattended.
