Theatre lovers have a rare chance to see a piece of Broadway theatre in Spalding next Monday when Anna Shapiro’s production Of Mice and Men comes to the South Holland Centre screen.

The Winter's Tale.

The Winter's Tale.

This ‘riveting and powerful’ (Independent) revival of John Steinbeck’s novella portrays the lives of migrant field workers in depression era California and has gained outstanding international reviews.

It also marks the Broadway debut of two leading names already well known on the big screen: Golden Globe® winner and Academy Award® nominee James Franco who ‘crackles with intensity’ as drifting migrant worker George; and Chris O’Dowd whose performance of Lennie was described as ‘superb’ by Time Out.

The centre has two screenings to choose from, Monday November 23 at 10.30am and 7pm.

A Winter’s Tale

And as if that wasn’t enough for theatre lovers, three days later we will be screening a live broadcast of Kenneth Branagh’s The Winter’s Tale.

This highly anticipated production stars a remarkable group of actors, including Judi Dench, Tom Bateman, Jessie Buckley, Hadley Fraser, Miranda Raison and the man himself, Kenneth Branagh .

It is screened at South Holland Centre on Thursday, November 26 at 7.15pm.
