The members of the Donington group of Slimming World have been officially pardoned for Christmas temptations.
Many of them – and there are about 150 in total who meet at the Ruby Hunt Centre – took part in a Christmas chocolate amnesty, in which they handed over sweet things still hanging about, just waiting for a weak moment.
Member Linda Peberdy organised the amnesty and then personally delivered the sweets to youngsters on the children’s ward at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.
The group’s consultant Emma Scarborough said: “We handed our chocolate over so we could have it out of temptation’s way, so we are giving the children and treat and saving our pounds.”
