THERE are currently 20 appealing greyhounds looking for good homes locally, but an event in Spalding Market Place on Saturday may have helped that situation.

Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust took dogs and collecting tins into the town centre to raise money and awareness of the work of the trust, which has successfully re-homed 98 dogs this year – and 1,075 greyhounds since it started in 1988.

Trust chairman Kevin Stow said: “We did very well in Spalding and raised just over £260, which is terrific, and I’d like to thank the people of Spalding. We also had a number of people showing interest in taking one home as a pet.”
