South Holland’s pooches will soon be perfectly behaved thanks to new ringcraft classes starting in Spalding.
Lincs Training – Dog Training Made Easy is beginning Ringcraft Classes at Spalding Grammar School from Wednesday, March 16 (6.30pm).
The classes, which will teach dogs how to walk in front of judges and familiarise them with being around other dogs, will be led by Anne Fathers and Sue Clements.
Ringcraft classes are designed to give those intending to show their dogs in competition a way of training, and the classes are designed for beginners as well as experienced dogs and handlers.
A spokesman said: “We aim to keep our training sociable and informative, building on the established training classes we already run.”
Helen V, who owns Lincs Training – Dog Training Made Easy, already runs 14 classes per week, all of which are fully booked – giving training to a total of between 60 and 70 dogs a week in small classes. They are at The Umbrella in Spalding, Spalding Grammar School, the Ivo Day Centre in Spalding and Pinchbeck Village Hall.
Helen started training her own dogs at the age of three and now has five Labradors. She only began working professionally in dog training around five or six years ago, and says: “I found dog training and it just opened my heart up because there are people out there who genuinely need help with their dogs and we find we can actually get them to access their dogs to get that deeper bond with them.
“I am just so happy we can do that.”
