Chocolate lovers of all ages are being invited to share their favourite recipes and take part in the Fairtrade Chocolate Bake Off.
The competition is aimed at promoting Fairtrade across South Holland and is open to children and adults – with prizes up for grabs in three age categories.
The winning recipe from each category will be used at a coffee morning at South Holland District Council offices in Spalding during National Chocolate Week in October.
Entrants simply have to create a recipe suitable for serving at a coffee morning which uses Fairtrade chocolate and other Fairtrade ingredients – and it has to look and taste great too.
Coun Nick Worth, portfolio holder for community development, said: “We hope to encourage people to get baking using some Fairtrade ingredients.
“I look forward to tasting the winning recipes.”
The age categories are students up to year six, students from year seven to 13, and adults.
Entry forms can be obtained by emailing email@example.com.
Entries will be judged at South Holland Fairtrade Steering Group’s annual meeting at St Nicolas Church Hall, the Vista, at 7pm on Tuesday, September 10.
Entrants will need to bring along a sample of their recipe for tasting and the recipe itself.
The winning recipes will then be baked and eaten at the coffee morning to be held at the council’s offices in Priory Road, on Wednesday, October 16.
Entries should be sent to Kay King, 37 Halmergate, Spalding, PE11 2EE, or email firstname.lastname@example.org, by 5pm on September 6.
