THE Lincolnshire Free Press and its sister paper the Spalding Guardian, has a new village correspondent for Donington.
Jane King has lived in Donington for the last nine years, moving there with her late husband and two children, from Moulton, when they bought Lake View Cattery.
Jane has always been interested in village affairs and became a district councillor just over a year ago. She is also involved with IDEA, Donington in Bloom, the Cowley Trust and she is a Foundation Governor at the Thomas Cowley High School.

A PLANNING meeting for the 2013 flower festival at St Peter and St Paul’s Church will be held in the church hall on September 10 at 7.30pm. This is an open meeting to everyone, including new volunteers.
WOMEN’S institute is inviting everyone to an open meeting in the Public Hall on September 11 at 7.15pm when celebrity journalist Judy Theobald will be talking about “Twenty odd years in the media”, about her life on a newspaper and magazine. Entrance is £3, pay on the door and bring your friends.
GOSBERTON Baptists are looking for sponsors to offset the cost of the flowers at their flower, craft and harvest festival. Cost per display is £10 and can be donated in memory of a loved one or to mark a special birthday or anniversary, or smaller donations can go towards a display, and can be passed on to church members. If there is anyone who would like to have a table top space of their own crafts etc to sell they are invited to contact church secretary and flower festival organiser Janet Bullows on 01775 713341. The festival runs from Friday, September 7 to Sunday, September 9, 10am-4.40pm on Friday and Saturday and 2-4.30pm on the Sunday.
Gosberton Clough and Risegate
GOSBERTON Risegate Methodist Church harvest festival takes place on Sunday, September 9, at 2.30pm and will be led by The New Name Group. The service will be followed by tea. The harvest continues on September 10 at 7pm with an auction and supper. Proceeds for the chapel funds.
GOSBERTON Clough Centenary Methodist Church celebrates its harvest festival on Sunday starting with a service at 2.30pm. This will be followed by tea. The harvest continues on Monday at 7.15pm with a supper and sale of produce.
