Boston Custom and Modified Car Show
FOLLOWING on from the success of last year’s event, the first outside of Boston, the Boston Custom and Modified Car Show is being held once again in King’s Field, Common Road, Moulton Seas End, PE12 6LF, on Sunday, August 19, 10am-3pm. There will be assorted refreshment stalls, trade stands and children’s rides, bouncy castle etc. While admission is free, there will be a collection box for donations for LIVES with all profits from the overall event being donated to the same charity. The event is open to anybody wishing to take part either on the club stands or by entering individually with their car and entry is free in all cases with trophies in the various classes. UNITED Reformed Church coffee morning will be held in the schoolroom, 10-11.30am on Saturday.

GOSBERTON Churches Together is having a special summer holiday edition of Messy Church in St Margaret’s Hall, Quadring, on Friday, August 17, from 4pm. Cool music, food and fun. Entry is free although donations towards the cost of food and crafts are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. ENTERTAINERS Patty and Tony Harris, from Gedney, are once again coming by popular demand to entertain the Ladybirds with more of their wonderful music. Patty sings and Tony plays the guitar. They cover well known songs by Johnny Mercer and others from the 20s to the 60s. The meeting is on Tuesday, August 14 at 7.30pm in the Frasier Room by the church. Non members are welcome; ticket 75p.
THURLBY Home and School Association is holding its next car boot sale on September 23, 2-4pm, at Lawrance Park, Crown Lane. £5 per vehicle. As usual, there will be no admittance to the field before 1pm for car boot sellers. Parking and toilet facilities will be available at Lawrance Park. THIS Sunday, St John the Baptist Church garden fete will take place in the vicarage garden from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Among the stalls will be a bottle stall, cake stall, children’s tombola and white elephant, as well as sideshows and games and refreshments. The raffle will have over 20 prizes, with a first prize of £100. THANK you to everyone who helped Jane and Fred Sivers at their cream teas afternoon, held recently in the church room and to all who supported this annual event. A total of £305.85 was raised and donated to the church room refurbishment fund.
