Crowland

NETWORK group meets on the first Thursday of the month at 2.30pm in the chapel for friendship, fellowship and caring, plus handicrafts.

CROWLAND Cares coffee morning is at the library on Friday, 10am-noon. As a thank you to everyone for their support at these events, the helpers are invited you to go along and join them for a complimentary coffee, tea and mince pie. If you require transport contact the help desk on 01733 211797.

Fenland Flywheelers

FENLAND Flywheelers monthly meeting is on Wednesday, December 4, in the function suite of the United Services Club, Church Street, Holbeach. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The subject will be Claas tractors and allied products and services with guest speaker Alistair McCallum, who is a well known and acknowledged expert on the make, with hands-on experience. He will be able to answer any questions or queries during the evening. Admission is free and light refreshments will be available. For more information phone Darren on 07941 471802.

Gedney Drove End

THE Christmas Fair will take place in the village hall on Sunday, 1-4pm. The event will include Santa’s Grotto, various stalls including crafts and cakes, competitions and refreshments. For further information contact Vikki Bills on 01406 550752.

Gosberton

GOOD Companion’s Club have a luncheon outing today. Usual pick ups.

GOSBERTON Baptists have fun and fellowship on Friday, 2-4pm, with table games and coffee, tea and cakes.

GOSBERTON House School has a Christmas fair to which everyone is welcome on Friday, December 6, at 1.30pm. The carol concert at the school is on Friday, December 13 at 1.30pm.

ON Saturday, December 7, the Baptist Church is having a Christmas flower arranging workshop. Those taking part make three arrangements and the cost of £20 covers the flowers, mechanics, etc. All one has to bring is scissors or secateurs and own lunch. Drinks are provided. SUNDAY afternoon tea with hymns is at the Methodist Church on December 8 at 4pm.

WOMEN’S Institute meet in the Public Hall on December 10 at 7.15pm when the subject will be ‘Christmas past’ by Kathy Holland. The competition is for the prettiest Christmas parcel and the stall will be made up of parcels from the competition.

CAROLS by candlelight around the Christmas trees is on December 12 at 7pm at the Baptist Church.

GOSBERTON and District Royal British Legion is having a Christmas concert with the Banovallum Brass Band in St Margaret’s Hall, Quadring, at 7.30pm on Friday, December 13. All proceeds are for the RBL at Gosberton

Gosberton Clough and Risegate

FRIENDS of St Gilbert and St Hugh’s have calendars on sale at the post office, located in Gosberton Clough Church Hall. The post office is open on Mondays and Thursday, 2-4pm.

GOSBERTON Risegate Methodist Church has a Christmas fayre at 1.30pm on Saturday. Stalls,competitions and refreshments.

MESSY Church at Gosberton Clough Methodist is on Friday, December 6, at 3.30pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

LOOKING ahead to Sunday, December 15, carols by candlelight will be held in St Gilbert and St Hugh’s Church with St John’s Church Choir, from Spalding. Christmas refreshments will be served.

GOSBERTON Risegate’s Duke of York is the venue for Gosberton Churches Together Christmas quiz and carol singing on Thursday, December 5 at 7.30pm.

Holbeach

HOLBEACH and East Elloe Hospital League of Friends annual meeting is on December 2 at 2pm at the hospital.

Holbeach Bank

THE school sends a big thank you to all who helped it raise £20.60 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and £153 for Children in Need.

THERE will be a Christmas bingo on Friday, December 6, doors open at 6.30pm with eyes down at 7pm.

Moulton Chapel

A SPECIAL Christmas Fayre on Saturday will be held at the Methodist Church, 10am to 1pm. As well as the usual book and puzzle sales, together with cakes, craft items, cards, etc, there will be an opportunity to find a bargain on the Christmas gift stall. Go along, take a friend and enjoy a turkey roll and soup as well as other delicious refreshments.

Pinchbeck

CHRISTMAS bazaar at St Mary’s Church hall on Saturday starts at 10am until noon. Stalls include cakes, preserves, toys, produce and much more. Refreshments available. Entrance free.
THERE is the annual Advent Carol Service on Sunday at 6.30pm in St Mary’s Church. A service of Advent carols, anthems and readings, followed by refreshments.

Spalding

SOUTH Holland Local History Group meets on Friday at 7.30pm in St John’s Church lounge, Hawthorn Bank. Speaker will be Gemma King with stories of haunted Spalding. Refreshments will be available.

Thurlby

THURLBY HSA is holding its Christmas bazaar on Saturday, December 7, at Thurlby School. The fun starts at 2pm and Santa will be there. Whaplode Drove

COME and enjoy an evening of entertainment this Friday in St John the Baptist Church at 7pm. Whaplode Drove Community Choir and friends will be performing songs, old and new, as well as a few funny poems and serving refreshments. No ticket is required and any donations received will go towards the continued refurbishment of the Churchroom.
