Crowland

MONDAY’S evening walk will be from Northborough along Deeping Gate riverside and return. Please meet at the former St Guthlac School by 6.25pm to share transport.

CROWLAND Wildlife Group invite you to bring your children to a pond dipping/picnic evening at Nine Bridges, which is on the A15 between Glinton and Market Deeping on Wednesday, July 31, weather permitting. Meet at the Copper Kettle, Crowland at 5pm for possible car sharing. Open to all, but all children must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring your own nets and picnic. Gedney Drove End

AN open evening/recruitment drive for First Responders in this community will be held at the village hall on Thursday, August 1, 6.30pm for 7pm.

ROYAL British Legion meeting will take place at the Rising Sun on Tuesday, August 6 at 7pm.

Gedney Dyke

Gosberton

NEXT fun and fellowship afternoon at the Baptist Church is tomorrow, 2-4pm with table games, coffee, tea and cakes.

THE Baptist Church has sent a hamper of food to the Spalding Lighthouse Church for the Agape food bank and is now collecting another batch. If there is anyone who would like to give food for the food bank they are invited to take it to the Baptist Chapel. Items required are UHT and dried milk, squash, pasta sauces, sponge puddings, custard and instant whip, cereals, jam, biscuits, instant mash potatoes, basic pot noodles.

GOSBERTON Methodists have a quiet place in their church every Thursday, 3-4pm. Anyone is free to drop in.

MOBILE library is in Gosberton tomorrow at Field Close, 10-11am and Godfrey Avenue, 11.05am-noon. For more information phone 01522 782010.

THE 1960s international recording star Ricky Valance will be holding a musical evening ‘My Life, My Story’ on Friday, August 16 at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church. Saracen’s Head

SARACEN’S Head Flower Club thanks everyone who supported and sponsored the recent China tea party which raised £1260.80 for Spalding St Barnabas and the Callum Pite Smile Charity.

Whaplode Drove

THIS Sunday there will be a Music Making Get2gether at 11am in St John the Baptist Church. Everyone will have the opportunity to try playing different musical instruments and to accompany one or two songs. Anyone of any age is welcome at this informal gathering during which refreshments will be served.

LIZ McRoberts thanks members of the Community Choir for their hard work during practices over the last year culminating in a wonderful showcase of their singing abilities at the recent village and country fair. Thanks also to Pauline Marriott and Colette Coleman for their support. The autumn term will begin on September 16, 7pm, in St John the Baptist Church porch. New members welcome.
