SATURDAY Strollers will be walking Titchmarsh Nature Reserve to Thrapston Marina on Saturday. Meet at the former St Guthlac School by 10.25am to share transport. Bring a picnic lunch.

CROWLAND Cares is holding its summer barbecue on Sunday, August 11, 11.30am–4.pm at 50 Peterborough Road. Tickets £7 each and can be bought from the help desk in the library. Numbers are limited, so please book as soon as possible. Please bring your own drink.


PARISH Council meets in the Public Hall on Monday, August 19 at 7.30pm.

COLIN and Carol Pearson, of 15 Eleys Lane, Algarkirk, PE20 2HR, are opening their gardens to the public on Saturday, August 24, 2-5pm. Entry into the gardens is free of charge with proceeds from sales of refreshments, cake stall, etc and competitions, going to the Gosberton Baptist Church.

GOSBERTON Church Fellowship meets in the church hall on Monday, August 12, at 7.30pm when there will be a showing of the 1930s classic comedy film Oh Mr. Porter. Admission is £1 for members and £3 for non members, which includes raffle and refreshments.

ST Peter and St Paul’s Church has a tower open day on Saturday,. August 31, 10am-4pm. Guide led parties lasting approximately 30 minutes will depart about every 15 minutes. To book in advance and for more information contact 01775 840694.

Gosberton Clough and Risegate

THE church hall is open on a Thursday afternoon for tea and coffee from 1pm to 3pm.

HOLBEACH Town Band’s annual Learn to Play Week is at the band room in Back Lane, from 2pm to 4pm from Monday to Friday, August 9.

METHODIST Church has a pot luck evening on Saturday featuring ‘The Bright Sparks’ at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £4.50.

PATCHETT Lodge summer fayre and car boot, with entertainment, is this Sunday, 2-4pm.


BROAD Street Methodist Church is holding a coffee morning and snack lunches on Saturday, from 10am to 1pm. There will be a selection of Fairtrade, cakes and books will be on sale.

There will be no 9am services during August or on September 1 but the 10.30am services will be held weekly as usual.

BINGO will be held at St Paul’s Church Hall, Fulney on Monday at 7.30pm.

SPALDING Cricket Club has it’s last car boot sale of the year this Sunday at the St Thomas’s Road Sports Club, from 8am to noon.

WESTON Village Hall Management Committee is organising a quiz night to help buy a community defibrillator.

The quiz is on October 26 and bookings are now being taken on 01406 370134.

The £5 entry fee per person includes a welcome drink and nibbles. Teams of up to six.

Donations of raffle prizes would be welcome too.
