Gosberton

IT is hoped to revive scouting in Gosberton. South Holland Scout District is hoping to start a Beaver Colony for six to eight-year-olds, a cub pack for eight to ten-year-olds and a scout troop for ten to 14-year-olds. Scouting offers young people between the ages of six to 25 the opportunity to undertake many adventurous and fun activities provided by adult volunteers. For a group within Gosberton to be successful it is necessary to find willing adults to support and provide this opportunity. Administration support is also required together with financial know how. Anyone wishing to find out more about this can contact the District Commissioner Paul Taylor on O7948 878104 or at dcsouthhollandscouts@gmail.com. Watch this space for the date of a taster evening.

BAPTIST Church is supporting the Agape Care Food Bank and has a tub in the vestibule for items of food which will then be forwarded to the Lighthouse Church in Spalding. Items suitable for donation are milk (UHT and dried), squash, pasta sauces, sponge pudding, custard and instant whip, cereals, jam, biscuits, instant mash potato and basic pot noodles.

GOSBERTON Ladies Circle have recently produced a recipe book from the recent bake off competition with the proceeds going towards the purchase of a chemotherapy pump for ward 7A at the Pilgrim Hospital. The books are available at £3 from Belinda Taylor on 01775 840441 or Michelle Smith on 01775 840839.

AT the end of May new envelopes will be distributed to those who give a weekly donation to St Peter and St Paul’s Church. One does not have to be a regular church goer as bunches of filled envelopes can be taken in at intervals. If you would like an envelope please contact Hilary Burt on 01775 840802.
