CROWLAND Abbey flower festival takes place this August bank holiday weekend.

This year’s theme is ‘Books from our childhood’, with titles including Alice on Wonderland, Heidi, Peter Pan, The Railway Children and Wind in the Willows. The festival starts this Friday until Monday, 10am-5pm except Sunday when it will be open from noon. There will be a Songs of Praise at 7pm on Monday. Admission by donation. Free parking.

MONDAY evening walk on August 26 will be around the Crown Lakes at Farcet. Please meet at the former St Guthlac School by 6.25pm to share transport.


NEXT meeting of the Good Companion’s Club is on Tuesday at 2pm in the Public Hall.

Mobile library will be at Field Close 10-11am and Godfrey Avenue 11.05-noon.

Gosberton Clough and Risegate

GOSBERTON Clough Methodist Church celebrates its harvest festival on Sunday, September 1 at 2.30pm. The service will be followed by a harvest tea. The festival continues on Monday, September 2 at 7.15pm with a harvest supper and sale.

Long Sutton

LONG Sutton Baptist Chapel Holiday Club starts on Tuesday until Friday, August 30 (9am-noon). Children from age four to 11 are welcome.


ST Nicholas Church flower festival is being held over this bank holiday weekend, starting tomorrow until Monday, 10am-5pm daily. There will be stalls and refreshments throughout and a driveway sale on Saturday (10am-2pm) and Songs of Praise at 6.30pm on Sunday.

Spalding Ramblers

The walk this Sunday will be a figure of eight of approximately eight miles starting at 10am from opposite the Fox public house in the village of Folksworth, just off the A1 near Stilton. Further details on the Ramblers website or phone 01775 725531.

ST John’s Church has a cake stall this Saturday at Baytree Garden Centre, Weston.
