Holbeach St Marks
CHILDREN at Holbeach St Marks School have been busy with Christmas preparations. The Pre-school children are practising their Christmas play to be performed in school today at 2pm and they also have a trip to the Fun Farm on Friday, December 20. The older children are also rehearsing a play to be performed at the village hall tomorrow at 6pm. Could all children arrive between 5.30pm and 5.40pm to get ready. They will be going to see Beauty and the Beast at King’s Lynn Corn Exchange today. On Friday, December 20, the children will travel to Westmere School, Sutton Bridge, for the Christmas party with a special visitor! The Christmas fair recently raised over £560 and the Christingle raised over £100.
PROF at the Piano – Christmas sing-a-long – and the draw for the luxury Christmas hamper will take place on Sunday at 1pm at Moulton Mill.
The mill will close after business on Sunday and re-open on January 9 at 10am. Thanks to all for their support in 2013.

SEVENTY eight attended the celebration service to mark the 125th anniversary of St John’s Church. The service was followed by tea and nibbles in the village hall.
OVER 40 people enjoyed the recent evening of entertainment featuring the Community Choir and friends, held at St John the Baptist Church. Thank you to Philip Bosworth,Mary Stone, Pauline Marriott, Robert King, all members of the choir and Brenda Blankley and all who helped in any way to make the evening such a success. Thanks also go to all who supported this informal concert, donations totalling £62 will be for the upkeep of the Church Room.
The Community Choir will be leading the singing of carols on the village green next Wednesday at 7pm.
ST John the Baptist Church will be open on Saturday between noon and 4pm and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm to view and vote for your favourite trees in the ninth annual Christmas tree competition. The presentation of awards will take place during the Carol Service on Sunday, December 22 at 6.30pm.
