SATURDAY Strollers will be starting their walk in Woodnewton, taking in Southwick and
Wych Spinney, which is about five miles. Meet at the former St Guthlac School by 10.25am this Saturday to share transport. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather, and bring a picnic lunch.
WASTE freighters will be at the groundsmen’s shed, Snowden Field, on Saturday, 8-11am. One takes household waste, and the other green waste for composting.
CROWLAND Methodist Chapel is holding an evening of music, comedy and some surprises on Saturday at 7pm. Tickets £1.50 if purchased in advance from Margaret Smith, or £2 on the door. Light refreshments included.
FLEET Baptist Ladies meet on the first Tuesday of the month and on May 7 Pen Farthing, ex Royal Marine, will give a talk about rescuing stray and abandoned animals in Afghanistan. The meetings are held at the Baptist Church at 2pm.
FLEET Baptist Church flower festival runs from May 2 to 6, 10am-4.30pm. Light lunches and refreshments will be served daily and there will be competitions, tombola, stalls, etc. The Salvation Army Band will perform on Saturday, May 4, at 7.30pm in the chapel. Spalding Ramblers Group
SPALDING Ramblers will be leading a walk this Sunday along the penultimate section of the north Norfolk coastal path. This section will cover the path from Salthouse to Sheringham. Walkers are asked to meet in Hamilton Road, Old Hunstanton, at 9.30am to travel by the Coasthopper bus to Salthouse. Please bring your bus pass if you have one.
