BOURNE Arthritis Support Group holds its AGM on March 7, which will be the final meeting. The club was first formed in 1976 but of late has been unable to attract new members and as a result cannot form a new committee.


SATURDAY Strollers will be walking on February 16 in Fineshade Woods. Meet at the former St Guthlacs School by 10.25am to share transport. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather, and bring a picnic lunch.

DID you leave school in 1970/1971/1972? If so, why don’t you drop in for a cuppa at St Guthlac’s Final School Reunion on Sunday February 17th 2013 at 2.00pm. Please bring your old photographs for our Memory Board. Please confirm that you will be coming with Val Hunter (nee Beeken) on 01733 210413.

WESLEY’S Wayfayrers will meet at Crowland Methodist Chapel on Tuesday at 11am for an hour of peace and tranquillity in our everyday lives. This is a quiet hour of hymns, readings and prayer.

CROWLAND Neighbourhood Panel Meeting will be held at the Parish Rooms on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

Gedney Hill

HOLY Communion will be held this Sunday in Holy Trinity Church Gedney Hill at 9.30am.

HOLY Trinity and St Polycarp’s Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, March 18 in St Polycarp’s Church at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.


DURING 2012 St Peter and StPaul’s Church, Gosberton, has sold newspapers to the value of £487.25. Organisers Hilary Burt, Mike Hammond and Ray Lindley thank all those who have saved the newspapers or have helped in any way. The church porch is open weekdays until 4pm and the news print can be left in there to benefit the church. Please remove staples if possible, as the paper may be used for horse bedding.

FOR those who donate money to the Gosberton St Peter and St Paul’s Church and are a current taxpayer a simple declaration form will enable the church to recover the tax paid on donations by cheque, envelope or standing order to “Gosberton PCC” and will be giving back 25p in the £1. IF there is anyone in Gosberton and district who would like to be a street pastor in Spalding, or part of the prayer team, contact Rev Ian Walters on 01775 840694. Also, if there is anyone who would like to be a Home-Start volunteer which supports other parents. A full induction programme is given and they adhere to strict safer recruitment procedures. The next course for the South Holland area is to be held at Holbeach Children’s Centre starting on Tuesday, February 26 9.30am until 2.30pm for ten weeks. In addition if there is anyone in the Gosberton area who would welcome support and has a child under the age of five, Home-Start may be able to help.

THE next Messy Church is in Quadring St Margaret’s Hall tomorrow at 3.30pm. The attendants are completely free to choose what they want to do. Adults choose a craft table with the young people with painting, making things, puzzles and learning. Just after 5pm all gather together for a short time of celebration ie song, prayer/film clip and drama, eat and drink before going home at 6pm. Entry is free although a donation towards food and craft material is welcome. GOSBERTON Ladies’ Circle meets today at 7.30pm in the Gosberton Methodist Church. The subject is Stained Glass Windows by Gillian Wing and the cost is £3 per meeting.

A MEETING of the Gosberton Public Hall Trustees is in the hall tonight at 7.30pm.

GOSBERTON Public Hall Trustees are holding a beetle drive and sausage and mash on Saturday, February 23, 5.45pm for 6pm start in the hall. Entrance is by ticket only at £6 and available from Ray Noble on 01775 840372.

Gosberton Clough and risegate

THE mobile library will be in Gosberton Risegate on Thursday, February 21 at the Five Bells from 1pm to1.30pm

FLOWERS at the Gosberton Clough and Risegate St Gilbert and St Hugh’s Church were arranged by Jean Spridgen for early February, but now during the season of Lent there will be no flowers from Sunday to March 24.

Moulton Chapel

THE coffee morning at Moulton Chapel Methodist Church this month will be held on February 23, from 10am-noon as usual. In addition to the normal sale of books, local produce, cakes and cards, we will be providing coffee and cake as usual, so do come along and bring a friend.


TOMORROW South Lincolnshire Astronomical & Geophysical Society will be hosting a talk by Professor Carolin Crawford BA, MA, PhD, on Exoplanets & How to Find Them. IF you’re wondering what to do to occupy little fingers and minds during half-term week, then help is at hand. Children of all ages are invited to join in an afternoon of fun, crafts and games on Tuesday. There will be plenty of help available – but parents and carers are of course welcome.
