CHURCHES Together in Crowland will be holding its annual Women’s World Day of Prayer service at Crowland Abbey tomorrow at 7pm. The service this year has been prepared by the women of France.
SATURDAY Strollers will be walking The Three Villages from Ufford on March 2. Meet at the former St Guthlac School by 10.25am to share transport. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather, and bring a picnic lunch.
CROWLAND Cares are establishing a 100 Club as a fundraising initiative. There will be an initial issue of 100 shares. The subscription for one share for a year is £12. Fifty per cent of subscriptions will be reserved for prizes, with a monthly draw for two prizes. When fully subscribed this translates to a £25 and £15 prize each month. The first draw will be April – drawn in the first week of May. The November draw will be a Super Draw when the two prizes will be significantly increased. All subscribed numbers will be in all draws. Subscriptions are available for sale at the Help Desk in the Library, 1 Hall Street, Crowland, Monday to Friday, from 9.30am to 12.30pm and are open to everyone over the age of 16. ON Thursday, March 14 the Gosberton Ladies’ Circle has a baking competition in the methodist church. It starts at 7.30pm and members bake a favourite cake and take it along together with the recipe for inclusion in a recipe book. Proceeds are for the purchase of a chemotherapy pump for ward 7A at the Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. Entrance to the meeting is 7.30pm.

A QUIET place is made available in the Gosberton Methodist Church every Thursday where people can go in to sit quietly or to talk. Someone will be on duty at 3pm for an hour.
USED postage stamps are being collected for the work of St Barnabas and can be left in a tub at the back of St Peter and St Paul’s Church or handed in to Quadring Post Office. A small border needs to be cut around the stamp.

BROAD Street Methodist Church held a well attended Super Soup Lunch for Christian Aid last Friday when the sum of £233 was raised.

WELLAND SENIORS’ FORUM
THE first meeting of the forum in 2013 will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at the United Reformed Church Hall, Pinchbeck Road, Spalding, starting at 2pm. The speaker for the afternoon will be from Anglian Water – we are sure there are a lot of questions you need answering.
