From Crowland to Spalding


WALKING for Health group walks every Wednesday from the library. It is free, very sociable and helps to keep you fit. The walk takes about an hour and is about two miles. Light refreshments on return supplied by Crowland Cares for £1. Meet at the library at 10.30am. Further information from Linda Barton 01733 212687.


A TOTAL of £497.19 has been sent to Marie Curie Cancer Care raised at the two coffee and strawberry mornings organised by Lorna Webb and her team of helpers.

THE next Parish Council meeting will be held on Monday, August 19, at the Public Hall at 7.30pm.

History Group

SOUTH Holland Local History Group will meet on Friday at 7.30pm at St John’s Church lounge, Hawthorn Bank, Spalding. Speaker will be Susan Stevenson who will talk about Puddle Paddock at Gedney Drove End. Admission is £2 and refreshments will be available.


SUMMER carries on with a Motown and Northern Soul Night at the United Services Club in Church Street, Holbeach on Saturday with dancing and jiving away to music of the era from the Nick Grattan Treble Nine Roadshow. Optional fancy dress of the period with prizes for the best turned out movers on the dance floor. Doors open at 7.30pm till late for this over 18s evening with admission free to club members and £2 for non members. Further details can be obtained from the club on 01406 423134.

Moulton Chapel

THE Methodist Church is holding a coffee morning on Saturday, 10am to noon. Go along for a coffee and a friendly chat . There will be stalls with cakes, local produce, books, cards, puzzles and craft items. There will be no coffee morning on August 31.


NEXT meeting of the Probus Club of Spalding will be at the South Holland Centre on Wednesday, August 7, 12.15pm for 12.45pm.
