From Bourne to Whaplode Drove


CHRISTMAS coffee morning will be held on Saturday, 10-11.30am with the usual stalls, plus a Christmas tombola.


CROWLAND Methodist Chapel Ladies Network Group is meeting on Thursday at the chapel at 2.30pm then going to Crowland Garden Centre for afternoon tea. Transport will be provided for those that need it. The group’s next meeting will be on January 3.


ST Mary Magdalene Church Christmas tree festival is on Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm with a carol service at 4pm on Sunday. Refreshments and mince pies will be served after the service; everyone welcome.

Gedney Drove End

CHRISTMAS bingo is at the village hall tomorrow. Doors open at 5.30pm for eyes down at 7pm.

ROYAL British Legion is holding a quiz night at the Wildfowler on the Wash on Saturday, 7pm for 7.30pm. All welcome.

COFFEE morning, to benefit Back Up Trust, a charity transforming lives after spinal cord injury, will be held at 1 Post Office Lane next Monday, 10.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome for coffee, cakes and chat for £2. House is wheelchair accessible, please park in Main Road.

Gedney Dyke

THERE will be a pre-Christmas disco with dancing to Foggy the Extrovert in the village hall on Saturday, 7.30pm until late. Bar available. Tickets £3 from Gedney Dyke village store or pay on the door.

Gedney Hill

WHAPLODE Drove and Gedney Hill Bowls Club will be holding its annual Christmas bingo in Gedney Hill Memorial Hall on Thursday, eyes down at 7.30pm.


GOSBERTON Relief In Need Charity gifts are given out on Thursday in the Public Hall, 10.30am to 1pm and in the Clough and Risegate Church Hall, 2pm to 3.30pm. All those receiving the old age pension and living in Gosberton and the Clough and Risegate will qualify. Representatives may collect for anyone unable to attend, but pension proof must be produced. These gifts must be collected between these hours.

PARISH Council meet in the Public Hall on Monday at 7.30pm.

BAPTIST Church is having carols by candlelight among the Christmas trees on Thursday, December 13 at 7pm. Coffee/tea and mince pies will be served.

ST Peter and St Paul’s Church is the venue for a band concert presented by Kirton Brass Band on Friday, December 14, at 7.30pm. It is jointly organised by the church and the Gosberton Royal British Legion and proceeds will be divided between them. Tickets are £6 in advance from Ray Lindley (01775 841092) or on the door.

THE WI meeting on Tuesday, December 11 (7.15pm) is card making by Sandra Overton. The stall is Christmas parcels and the competition is for a bauble.

Clough and 

GOSBERTON Clough and Risegate Primary School children are going to see Jack and the Beanstalk at the South Holland Centre in Spalding on December 19.


MEGA Christmas bingo is this Saturday at the WI Hall, Park Road. Doors open at 1pm for eyes down at 2pm. Proceeds to 2430 Holbeach Air Cadets.

Long Sutton

LONG Sutton Baptist Church lunches will be a set Christmas menu on Friday, December 14, £9 per person. To book phone Mrs Foster on 01406 362746 or call in at the Baptist Church.


ST Nicholas Church bazaar is in the village hall on Saturday at 2.30pm. Stalls will include cakes,crafts, tombola, raffle, books and refreshments. All proceeds go to the ongoing upkeep of St Nicholas Church. All welcome.

Lutton Marsh

Ladies Group will meet at the Methodist Chapel on Thursday at 2pm for a social afternoon. The annual Carol Service will be held on Thursday, December 20 at 2.30pm.

Whaplode Drove

PAT Campbell, singer, will be performing in the bar at the Elizabethan Centre, this Saturday, from 8pm. Free entry, all welcome.
