CROWLAND Methodist Church invite you to join in with its MAD Group for an evening of music and drama on Friday nights at 7pm.
WASTE freighters will be at the groundsman shed at the Snowden Field on Saturday, 8-11am. One takes household waste and the other green waste for recycling.
CROWLAND Amateur Dramatic Society is holding a meet and greet coffee morning on Saturday in the Parish Rooms, Hall Street, 10am-noon. The group is looking for all sorts of people who can sew, paint, do DIY, make cups of tea, stage lighting, designing scenery or just happy to give their time. The pantomime Peter Pan will be performed on February 15 and 16.
SATURDAY Strollers will be walking from Sawtry on Saturday. There are several walks of between four and six miles. Please meet at the former St Guthlac School at 10.25am to share transport if required. Bring a picnic lunch. Please be aware that some walks may be muddy.
CROWLAND Royal British Legion invite you to join them at 2.30pm at the cenotaph in East Street for Remembrance Sunday, for two minutes’ silence, laying of wreaths and a short service, followed by a service at the Abbey to remember the fallen in past and current conflicts.
CROWLAND Town Society is meeting on Monday at 7.30pm in Reform Street Methodist Church. An Illustrated talk entitled ‘The Development of Peterborough’ will be presented by Stephen Perry.
REMEMBRANCE in Fleet on Sunday starts at 2pm with the Act of Remembrance and wreath laying at the war memorial, followed by the Remembrance Service at Fleet Baptist Church at 2.30pm.
ANNUAL meeting of the Fleet and District Royal British Legion is on Thursday, November 15 at the Anglia Motel, Washway Road, at 2.30pm.
WOMEN’S Institute’s monthly meeting is on November 28 in the Memorial Hall at 7.15pm. A representative from Morrison’s of Peterborough will be giving a talk.
REMEMBRANCE Service on Sunday at Holy Trinity Church is at 10.55am.
ROYAL British Legion services of Remembrance for Gosberton and the Risegate and Clough on Sunday begin with a service at St Peter and St Paul’s Church at 9.45am after which the congregation will walk to the Gosberton war memorial to arrive in time for the 11am two minutes’ silence. A short service will take place at the Risegate war memorial at 2pm.
CHURCHES in the Gosberton group and the schools are taking part in the Christmas Child Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Appeal. Boxes are to be handed in to Julie Smith or at the Gosberton vicarage by November 18 ready for collection. There is a box at the back of St Peter and St Paul’s church where odd items can be placed and then made up.
GOSBERTON Methodists are having a Christmas coffee morning on Saturday at 10am. Light lunches will be available. Cakes, tombola, bric-a-brac, raffle and much more.

GOSBERTON Church Fellowship meets in the church hall on Monday, November 19, 7.30pm, with an interesting speaker, raffle and refreshments.
LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Services) calendars are now available for 2013 with lovely pictures of Lincolnshire and priced at £4.50. Quadring and Gosberton volunteers are called out to respond before ambulances can arrive and have helped save lives locally. REMEMBRANCE Day parade on Sunday will muster at South Holland Boxing Academy, Fleet Street, to move off at 2.05pm. The parade will halt at All Saints’ churchyard war memorial for the Act Of Remembrance and laying wreaths before proceeding into church for the Remembrance Service. The parade will be led by Stamford Brass, thanks to the generosity of Holbeach Parish Council. There will be no observance of the two minutes’ silence on Sunday morning as it coincides with Morning Service.
THE annual meeting of Holbeach Royal British Legion will be held on November 21 at Holbeach United Services Club, Church Street, at 7pm. Nominations for committee posts are required, sheets for which may be found on the notice board in the foyer of Holbeach United Services Club until Monday. Members are reminded that membership fees are now due, although payments will not be accepted at the AGM.
CHRISTMAS fayre is being held at Cecil Pywell Community Hall, Holbeach, on Saturday, November 24, 11am-3pm. Various stalls and games, refreshments, admission 20p.
ALL Saints’ Ladies Group is in need of new members, all ladies, any age. Come along and enjoy talks and demonstrations from a wide range of topics, tea, coffee and a chat. Next meeting is on Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Reading Room and will be flower arranging with Pat Ashley. There is an annual fee of £6 for membership plus £1 entry fee each month. AT All Saints’ Church in November and December there are a number of Sundays when the Service of Evensong will not take place. This is because other services will be held on November 11 (Remembrance Sunday Service, 2.30pm), December 2, 9 and 23.
Long Sutton Royal British Legion Remembrance Sunday parade and church service will be held at the Parish Church on Sunday. The parade will move off from the RBL headquarters in West Street at 2pm to the war memorial and then into the church where the service will start at 2.30pm. There will be refreshments after the service at the branch headquarters. The branch is proud to announce that Alan Hyam, one of its standard bearers, who is also vice chairman of the club committee, will be taking part in the muster at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday.
CASH bingo and prize raffle will be held on Tuesday in the village hall. Eyes down 7.30pm. Refreshments available or bring a bottle.
ROYAL British legion Remembrance Services for Pinchbeck start tomorrow with a school Remembrance Service at the war memorial at 10.50am. On Sunday the parade to the church from the village hall in Burr Lane starts off at 10.30am for the service at St Mary’s Church at 10.45am. Wreaths will be laid after the service followed by a march back to Burr Lane.
WOMEN’S Institute meet on Monday at 7.30pm in the village hall. Bourne Borderers Morris Dancers will be entertaining. Visitors welcome.
ROYAL British Legion Remembrance Day service will be at the church hall at 3pm on Sunday and not at the church.
REMEMBRANCE weekend starts tomorrow with a short service at Springfield’s memorial tree, assembling at 10.30am outside the information office with a march to the tree for the 10.55am service. On Saturday there is a short service at Spalding Cemetery at 10.45am when both cadet forces will put crosses on the cemetery war grave. On Sunday the parade will form in Market Place at 10.15am ready to march off to Ayscoughfee Gardens, led by the veterans, for the Service of Remembrance at the war memorial, and wreath laying. The public are welcome to attend. The service will start at 10.50am. The parade will return back to the Market Place for the march pass and dismiss at 12.30pm.
SPALDING Ramblers Group is leading a walk on Sunday, starting from the village of Shouldham, off the A134 south of King’s Lynn. Meet in the centre of the village for a 10.30am start. Further details from the walk leader on 01775 630667.
