Deeping St Nicholas
INVITATIONS have been sent out for the Women’s Institute’s harvest supper on September 11 to the Ladies’ Guild, Royal British Legion, Deeping St Nicholas Chapel, Deepings Lunchtime Club and Pode Hole, Tollgate, Uffington, Thurlby, Baston and Deeping St James Women’s institutes. THE New Name Group of Sibsey is leading the harvest service at the Gosberton Risegate Methodist Church on Sunday, September 9 at 2.30pm, followed by tea. The harvest continues on Monday, September 10 at 7pm with an auction and supper. Proceeds for chapel funds.

KIRTON Brass Band has a gala concert on Saturday, October 6, in St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Kirton, in aid of the church roof appeal. Special guest will be Lucy Landymore BBC’s Young Percussionist of the Year 2010. The band is thrilled that Lucy has accepted its invitation and she will no doubt bring along her expertise to add to an exciting evening, along with the bands’ own repatoire under the baton of Nick Tudball. The Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire and his wife and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Boston will be guests on the evening.
