Bicker

BARGAINS galore are to be had at the fashion show by Lincs Fashion in the village hall on Wednesday, September 12, at 7.30pm. Tickets £3 to include refreshments, can be bought from the post office. All proceeds to the hall funds.

BICKER Christmas fair will be on November 23, 6.30-9.30pm, in the village hall raising funds for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness. There will be various stalls, including a photo booth, and a raffle. Free admission. Details from Suzanne Lynch, 01775 249031.

UNITED Reformed Church coffee morning on Saturday is in the schoolroom, 10-11.30am.

Crowland

NETWORK Ladies Group is meeting in the Methodist Chapel at 2.30pm for an afternoon of handicrafts, fellowship and a cup of tea. The cost of the afternoon is £1 with half going to the chapel and the other half to a chosen charity.

MONTHLY bingo takes place at the village hall tomorrow. Doors open at 6.45pm with eyes down at 7.30pm.

Gosberton

GOSBERTON Baptists have a flower, craft and harvest festival on Friday through to Sunday. The church opens at 10am to 4.30pm on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday morning coffee is served at 10am followed by the morning service at 10.30am and then the church is open for viewing from 2pm to 4.30pm. Refreshments will be on sale, donations of homemade cakes will be welcome. There will also be various games. For more information phone organiser Janet Bullows on 01775 713341.

Gosberton Clough and Risegate

MANY residents of the Gosberton Clough and Risegate are regular attenders at the coffee mornings organised by Lorna Webb and her team of helpers, and will be interested to learn that they are taking part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The first event will be at Mrs Webb’s home, 2 Poachers Gate, Pinchbeck, on Tuesday, September 25, 10am-noon and together with the coffee and scone or bun. There will be a cake stall and a raffle. A continuation will be in Gosberton Church Hall on September 26, 10am-noon, where the usual weekly coffee morning at which Mrs Webb is a regular helper will be in aid of the Macmillan. Again coffee and scones will be served and there will be a raffle. Also there will be a bring and buy stall.

GOSBERTON Risegate harvest is on Sunday at 2.30pm followed by tea and continues on Monday at 7pm with auction of harvest produce and supper.

ST Gilbert and St Hugh’s harvest festival is on Sunday, September 23, at 11am followed by lunch in the church hall. Contact Sue Murphy on 01775 750334 for tickets at £9 each.

Holbeach

MEGA bingo in the WI Hall, Park Road, this Saturday is in aid of Holbeach ATC. Doors open at 1pm for eyes down at 2pm, everyone welcome, good prizes.

LADIES Group will meet at the Methodist Chapel on Thursday at 2pm, when the Rev Alan Barker will host an afternoon of music and readings on the theme of harvest.

Pinchbeck

WOMEN’S Institute meet in the village hall on Monday at 7.30pm with speakers Gerry Burrows and Peter Carl on ‘Faberge, jeweller to the Tsars’. The competition is for a piece of antique jewellery, pre 1950.

THE outing to Rutland Water leaves Pinchbeck Village Hall next Tuesday at 9am.

PINCHBECK Photographic Group invites you to enrol for its autumn-winter programme, on Thursday, 7.30pm at Birchgrove Garden Centre, Pinchbeck (special joining rates apply). Exhibition of members prints. Everyone welcome.

SPALDING and District Flower Lovers’ Club meeting is at 7.15pm tomorrow at the Grammar School, with national demonstrator Lois Gill.

West Pinchbeck

THE agenda of the meeting on September 5 of the Senior Club has changed. Jennie Storr, who was due to give a talk on ‘grumpy people’, is unable to attend due to unexpected family reasons. Due to the relatively short notice the afternoon’s programme will be replaced by games.

WEST Pinchbeck village show is being held on Saturday in the village hall. There are various classes for adults (including men) and children, ranging from fruit and vegetables, flowers, cookery and crafts. If you require a schedule these are still available from Wendy Houghton 01775 640296 and Anne Willson 01775 640200 should you wish to take part. Exhibits should be taken to the hall between 9.30am and noon. One entry per person per class, cost is 20p per item entered. Doors open to the public at 3.30pm – 5pm. Presentation of prizes at 4.30pm.

Whaplode Drove

COMMUNITY Choir begins again on Monday, 7–8.30pm in the church porch. The choir will meet every week this term and new members of any age or ability are welcome to join. There is no audition or solo singing. Would regular members please bring all of their music and words this term.

YOU are invited to a fashion show, with cheese and wine and a raffle, on Friday, September 21, at 7pm in the church room. Tickets will be available on the door, with all proceeds going to the refurbishment of the church room.
