A COUNCILLOR has launched a new website to start up a conversation with residents and keep them informed of issues affecting them.
Nick Worth, who represents the Holbeach Division on Lincolnshire County Council and Holbeach Hurn on South Holland District Council, is one of the first to “go live” with a digital councillor website as part of a project by Spalding-based Kind of Digital to make elected members more accessible to the public they serve.
Coun Worth has already started adding a range of information to his new site at www.nickworth.co.uk, including details of council meetings he attends and issues raised by local residents, such as calls for dog waste bins and safety concerns.
He said: “I have had a traditional website for a number of years but it has been very static.
“What I really wanted and hopefully have got with this new site is more interaction. People can leave comments which then come to me by email and I can respond.
“It’s a cross between a blog and a website and the idea is to get feedback from people and give them more information on what I’m up to as their councillor.”
As well as commenting on Coun Worth’s own posts on the site, residents can also raise issues of concern to them for him to look into.
He added: “It’s up and running, though it’s still a work in progress, but I’m hoping to get some positive feedback.”
