Volunteers at Deepings Foodbank are preparing for their annual Christmas collection at Tesco, Market Deeping, later this month with a ringing endorsement from the school which hosts them.

The Deepings School, where the foodbank is open on Mondays and Fridays between 4pm and 6pm, has played a major role in its work since the idea of a foodbank was raised last summer.
Headteacher Richard Trow said: “We were very pleased to provide a venue for Deepings Foodbank when it launched in 2013.
“Both staff and governors feel it is extremely important to give our full support to this group who work so hard to assist people in crisis in our community.

“Our school promotes the value of good citizenship to our students and it’s right that we demonstrate this by helping the foodbank.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship and thank the great team of people who provide this caring service.”

Shoppers can donate items of food during the collection at Tesco, Godsey Lane, Market Deeping, on November 28,29 and 30.
