David Leigh, of Dennis Estate, Kirton, has died at Pilgrim Hospital following a long illness. He was 68.

Born in Uxbridge, he had lived in the area for 40 years.

A married man, he is survived by wife Patricia Leigh, sons Darren Leigh and Christopher Leigh, daughter Suzanne Teft, granddaughter Jessie Leigh and other grandchildren.

Mr Leigh served in the Army in the tank regiment and later worked as a long distance lorry driver and van driver.

His hobbies included fishing, cars, dogs, caravanning and gadgets.

His funeral took place at Boston Crematorium and was followed by cremation.

The service was officiated by Alison Ashton.

Chief family mourners were: Patricia Leigh (wife), Darren Leigh (son), Jessie Leigh (granddaughter), Suzanne Lambley and Perry Crosby (step-daughter and partner), Kelvyn and Ester Scrupps (stepson and daughter-in-law), Sally-Anne and Jason Preece (step-daughter and son-in-law), Claire Leigh (daughter-in-law), James Lambley and Amy Pesterfield (grandson and partner), Lawrence and Gemma Lambley (grandson and wife), Leanne Lambley and Christopher (granddaughter and partner).
