It was all pain but plenty of gain when a staff member at a Spalding shoe shop had a sponsored chest and leg wax for charity.
Smooth operator Danny Roberts, who is also a teaching assistant at the Monkshouse School in Spalding, decided to grit his teach and bare it for the ladies’ event weekend at Brantanos.
Another member of staff, Danielle Howlett, who is a qualified beautician volunteered to do the waxing and between them they decided to donate proceeds to Cancer Research.
Store manager Terea Smith said £340 was raised for charity.
She said: “There was a great atmosphere in the store that day. Danny agreed to have both his chest and legs waxed, much to the delight of onlookers, including some of the pupils from Monkshouse School who went along to support him.
“It stung, of course, but Danny had some aloe vera gel put on at the time so it was quite cooling, although I expect it will soon start to itch.
