There was a hero’s welcome at Adderley House Care Home, Long Sutton, for four cyclists after a 80-mile charity ride to Norfolk and back.

The intrepid group led by Mick Mastin, whose wife Rosanne is the care home’s activities coordinator, also included his brothers John and Neville Mastin who were joined by Jeff Dix.

About £255 was raised for a residents’ comfort fund through sponsorship of the ride which ended at the care home’s garden party where an extra £760 was raised for the same cause.

Sandra Portass, care home manager, said: “Mick offered to do a sponsored bike ride from Long Sutton to Hunstanton and back to maximise the amount of money raised for the residents.”
