BREAKING NEWS FRIDAY 10.30AM: A woman who died after falling into a river in Crowland has been named today.
Sheila Sharpe (76), of The Common, Crowland, died in hospital after falling into the River Welland, near Ye Olde Bridge Inn pub, yesterday morning.
She was taken to hospital in Peterborough after being rescued from the water but died after arrival.
South Lincolnshire Coroner’s Office has been informed and an inquest will be held in due course.
THURSDAY 1PM: A 76-year-old woman who was rescued after falling into a river in Crowland has died, it has been confirmed today.
Police were called to a slipway near Ye Olde Bridge Inn, The Common, at about 8.10am after a report that an elderly woman was in the river.
She was taken to hospital in Peterborough suffering from the effects of hypothermia but died shortly after arriving there.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and South Lincolnshire Coroner’s Office has been informed.
THURSDAY 10.30AM: A 76-year-old woman has been rescued from a river in Crowland.

The woman was rescued from the water and taken to hospital in Peterborough, suffering from the effects of hyperthermia.
