A NEW group has been formed to help the long term fight for secondary education in Crowland.
Education4Crowland contains concerned residents and members of South Holland district and Crowland parish councils and will look to keep the battle for a secondary school in the town going beyond the current fight for the St Guthlac School.
The group aims to poll parents of children at St Guthlac’s feeder schools and residents about the idea of setting up a new “free school” if the St Guthlac is forced to close.
Jim Astill from the Save St Guthlac campaign said: “The Education4Crowland group will enable us to continue the fight to Save St Guthlacs whilst also enabling us to look at other options.”
New group chairman Glyn Mayley, elected at the recent first meeting, said: “Together we are a stronger fighting force, and with more people we will be able to explore more options.”
