GIANTS of steam, vintage tractors, classic cars and bikes proved as popular as ever as people turned out for the 17th annual Holbeach Vintage Rally.

Rally chairman Alan Thacker said a flypast by the historic Lancaster was a real crowd pleaser.

And visitors were delighted by a brand new feature, a 1960s memorabilia marquee.

The marquee was decked out with household appliances from the 60s and there were vehicles outside from the same period.

Mr Thacker said visitors always love watching the arena dog agility displays and taking part in the egg throwing competition.

Saturday always has a lower turnout than Sunday.

The people who attended on Saturday had to contend with rain and a half-hour hail storm.

Mr Thacker said: “It was quite unpleasant for a little while.

“On the whole it was a good weekend. We had a good attendance of people and exhibitors.”
