A group of youths have been arrested on suspicion of theft after two bicycles were dumped in a Pinchbeck waterway over the Easter holidays.

Police are asking people to check if their bike is missing following the recovery of two bikes from Vernatts Drain, off Two Plank Lane, Pinchbeck, where they were dumped on Easter Monday.

An off-duty police officer saw youths throw the bikes into the water at about 3pm on March 28.

The youths were then questioned and arrested on suspicion of stealing the bikes after they failed to give a satisfactory account for their actions.

One of the bikes is a blue Apollo Envy ladies’ mountain bike and the other is a silver mens’ mountain bike, but both are without any branding to indicate the manufacturers.

The youths have been bailed by police who want to meet anyone who believes either of the bikes belongs to them.
