Spalding police are warning residents of a spate of thefts from properties in part of town.

PCSO Emma Cinavas of Spalding Estates Neighbourhood Policing Team said there have been a number of recent incidents on the older area of the Woolram Wygate estate and nearby surrounding areas.

She said in a message via the Lincs Alert system: “Access has been gained to several insecure properties during the hours of darkness and small valuable items taken such as purses, wallets and mobile telephones. Also items have been taken from vehicles in the area too, with the vehicles thought to have been left insecure.

“Please ensure that you double and even triple check before going out or going to bed - that your windows and doors are closed and locked. Check too that your cars and vans are locked and all valuables removed, including wallets, purses, sat navs and laptops.

“Keep an eye out too for your neighbours and make them aware of this message.”

If you see anyone or any vehicles during the day or night acting in a suspicious manner, she says it is worth a call on 101 at the time. Should you witness a crime in progress call 999 immediately.
