POLICE have arrested a Spalding man on suspicion of burglary.
Officers were called to an address in Riverside Park shortly after 1am yesterday morning after items were taken from a shed.
A 50-year-old man from Pinchbeck Road was arrested nearby on suspicion of burglary and taken to Boston Police Station for interview.
Several insecure sheds have been targeted across South Holland in recent weeks, particularly in Whaplode, and police are urging householders to review their shed and garden security and consider the use of shed bars and alarms.
Crime Prevention Officer, PC Nic Hanson, said: “At this time of year, freezers in sheds, garages and outbuildings may contain many hundreds of pounds worth of food and people will also frequently store crates of alcohol in these locations.
“Don’t make it easy for the opportunist thief by leaving doors to these buildings insecure.”
