TWO men have been arrested after scrap metal was found in their van in Gosberton.
The men were held on Thursday after two members of the public reported suspicious activity to the police.
One caller at 7.53am reported items being taken from a neighbour’s garden.
Police located the vehicle in Gosberton and found it to be running on illegal agricultural diesel. It has since been seized.
Sgt Stuart Hurst said: “This is an example of the public working with the police. We were able to act on the reports given to us.”
Among the items of scrap were an old fridge, a wheelbarrow and a washing machine.
Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 53 of September 20.
