Tweet beats help to reassure public

Followers of Twitter accounts run by Spalding Police are growing by the week.

The @SpaldingPolice account that was launched during a live Tweet Beat with the Lincolnshire Free Press now has more than 700 followers.

Ins Jim Tyner has more than 370 followers @spaldingtyner and the newest account, @HolbeachPolice, already has 85 watchers.

Sgt Stuart Hurst said: “We are delighted with the way the public has received our tweets. Twitter is proving an excellent way of reassuring people that we are out there and keeping them informed.

“However, the best way to report crimes and get immediate response is still by calling 101.”
