DRIVER Piotr Szpakowski was almost double the drink drive limit when police found him in a Ford Mondeo in Spalding’s Albion Street.

District Judge Richard Blake banned Szpakowski for three years after hearing it was his second excess alcohol offence within ten years.

The judge told Szpakowski that a disproportionate number of East Europeans appear in court for drink drive offences, which makes him think they have a “general disregard” for the drink drive laws.

Mr Blake warned Szpakowski he faces prison if he appears in court again for the same offence.

He said: “I say that not because I think you will but just so you know your position.”

Szpakowski (29), of Hallgate, Moulton, can cut nine months off his ban by completing a rehabilitation course. He was also fined £400 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £15 victim surcharge.

He admitted driving with 66 microgrammes of alcohol in breath.
