Police say seven Spalding businesses had windows or doors damaged last night (Tuesday) in a series of linked incidents.

Officers are reviewing CCTV evidence as part of their ongoing inquiries to trace those responsible.

Four shops in The Crescent had windows scratched while another in the same street had a glass door smashed.

A Bridge Street estate agents was also attacked, with a window scratched, and a sandwich shop in New Road had a window scratched.

It’s believed more businesses will be added to the list as damage is spotted and officially reported to the police.

Among the businesses targeted were Wrights Flooring and Carpets, where it appears a sharp instrument cut virtually all the way through one section of glass, while other premises had deep surface scratches – some in the shape of a cross.

• Police are investigating an incident where house windows were smashed in the town’s Albert Street the same night.

Anyone with information about any of these vandalism incidents is asked to call police on 101.
