A SPALDING man has vowed not to go shopping again when drunk after he was caught shoplifting.
Rafal Czyzewski (39), of Winsover Road, tried to take items worth £47.24 from Sainsbury’s in Holland Market.
He appeared before magistrates following his arrest on January 22.
Czyzewski was given a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £9.98 compensation for two bottles of wine he broke. He must also pay £85 costs.
Defending, Rachel Stevens said he had gone to buy some food. She said he “did not know what came over him” when he tried to steal.
