Porn loving dad assaulted daughter in family row

A FATHER assaulted his 14-year-old daughter after she accused him of watching internet porn while she and her sister were with him, a Spalding court heard.

The girl asked him: “What are you doing looking at porn with your two daughters in the room?”

The 49-year-old man then threatened to take his daughter’s laptop as a punishment for her words.

She ran upstairs, grabbed her laptop and lay on the bed.

Deborah Cartwright, prosecuting, said the father pinned the girl on the bed, placed his hand on her left thigh and squeezed it, causing bruising.

The girl’s mother walked into the bedroom and saw him assaulting their daughter.

Miss Cartwright said the young girl had to bite her father on the back to get him off.

Her aunt told her to ring police and later the father agreed to vacate the Holbeach home.

Miss Cartwright said children’s services became involved after the girl went to school and her injuries were seen there.

At the outset, Miss Cartwright said there was a significant background to the case.

She said the father had a habit in relation to internet porn and chatrooms and the mother had ensured that he did not have access to the family computer.

But on the day of the assault he had obtained the password to the family computer from his son.

Miss Cartwright said the father told police he was on his “normal chat site” when he was in the living room with his daughters.

He said in interview it was only the weight of his arm that caused the injury to his daughter.

The father pleaded guilty to common assault and District Judge John Stobart adjourned sentence to October 6 for a probation report.

Mr Stobart said: “This is a nasty assault. It has its basis in selfishness and, to an extent, bullying so any court will be thinking punishment and that punishment being in the nature of imprisonment.”

l The court placed a reporting order on the case to protect the identity of the girl who was hurt.
