A woman whose body was found in a field near Gedney on Saturday has been named as Karen Greenwood (50).
She was reported missing last Thursday after leaving her relatives’ homes in Fleet Hargate at about 2pm.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said that Miss Greenwood had been involved in a “disagreement” before going out.
Fears over her safety rose when it emerged that she was on foot, with no money or the medication she was on.
Miss Greenwood made no attempt to contact her relatives and police issued a photograph of Karen, described as looking “younger than her age”, along with details of what she was wearing when she was last seen.
Police carried out what they called “an extensive search of the local area”, including helicopter surveillance, but a woman’s body was found at about 1.30pm on Saturday.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and an inquest is expected to be opened shortly.
