A man killed in a collision on the A16 in Cowbit after Christmas had arrived in the UK just hours earlier, police have said.
Algimantas Zonys (23) had travelled from Lithuania to meet family members living in north Lincolnshire when he was hit by a car while walking towards Crowland on Saturday December 28.
Mr Zonys was formally identified on Friday after a post-mortem examination and police have renewed their appeal for witnesses who saw him before the fatal accident.
Sgt Ewan Gell of Lincolnshire Police said: “Mr Zonys had only been in the UK for a few hours, having arrived in Spalding by bus.
“He got off at the roundabout near McDonalds restaurant at about 10,30am on December 28 when he was wearing a blue denim jacket, jeans and trainers.
“A man matching his description was seen in Cradge Bank at about 4.30pm and at about 7pm, witnesses believe they saw Mr Zonys walking along the A16 towards Crowland shortly before the fatal collision.”
Anyone who saw Mr Zonys who was 6ft tall, slim and had dark hair, should call the Collision Witness Hotline on 101.
